Real – Real

Moon Landings were real, it is the people of the Planet Earth that are fake.

Too many times over the last 20 years, I have had people tell me that the moon landing were fake, that the B2 bomber was built using alien technology, that the Pyramids were built by Aliens, etc…

The fact is that some people cannot believe that, we, humans are capable of so much.

It is easier to tear down the accomplishments of some, because we can’t understand how it was done. Arthur C. Clarke once said “to a primitive people advanced technology is indistinguishable to magic”.

How much easier is it to believe that there was a giant conspiracy to hide the truth from people, because it might hurt a few fragile egos. The fragile egos belong to the deniers, the people who rather than build something, find it easier to tear it down, to offend those who spent their lives, dedicated to advancing human knowledge.

To me these people are the ones running with the books to quickly burn them, so the knowledge won’t offend their delicate sense of world order. It also seems to me that these people never really got over finding out that Santa Claus, didn’t exist, but was a worldwide conspiracy to let children believe in magic for a while.

At some stage, the US government lost the trust of the people, probably during the Vietnam period and Watergate, and now it is easier to believe that they lie and manipulate first and tell the truth last.

As a child, (born in 1960) I followed man’s struggle to get to the moon, I read everything I could and watched the news for stories of it. Later in life I was to work for a Missile company and learned first hand how hard it was to make a missile fly, let alone hover in one spot.

I once read a story, on an Australian Website, saying the work I was doing was based on captured alien technology. I read the story out to the man who actually developed the system hoping he would get a laugh as well. He didn’t, he was despondent, he could not believe anyone would be so ignorant and stupid to believe that what we were creating wasn’t based on an idea and the development of the idea.

Humans are creative creatures, if nature can do it so can we. We will do it the same way as well, we will develop the first one, try it and if it works, redesign it and keep redesigning it until it is fit for purpose. The difference is we will spend millions, possibly billions of dollars to do it and do it in 20 years, nature will expend thousands, or tens of thousands of years and make it functional and elegant.

It is often easier to debunk the hard work of thousands of visionary, dedicated and creative people than believe the simple truth, that humans are smart enough to put a man on the moon and return them safely, using primitive technology.
