Is it better to Cry when Hurt or Hold Back all Feelings

Crying is the action that cleanses the soul. It is like cool rain after a hot day.
It is like a re-freshening. Like sitting in a hot tub after a long pressing day at work. The feeling you get when your hope is renewed.

Every one should be able to cry with no remorse. This includes men. In fact I believe if more men would find a healthy release, like crying it would be a miracle. The stigma that real men don’t cry is a handicap to our world. For me, a man who cries approprietly; is a man who is secure in their manhood.

A lot of us cry when pain is evident. There are only a few tings you can do about the pain. You can try to forget it; which we all know, that doesn’t work. We could look to the other end of a bottle; which as we all know, could lead to addiction.

We could also just push it back. Try to forget about it. Subdue it with some lame excuse that it didn’t really bother you. Although even that does not seem to do the trick. So do we let it fester or release it?

Hopefully we all come to a realization that there is nothing wrong with crying. No it doesn’t make you a cry baby to let off some steam. In fact it would diffinitly be better then getting addicted to drugs. Trying to escape the reality of a pain or situation.

Being overwhelmed is another emotion that we try to avoid. We try to cover up. Yet crying will sometimes bring us to a realization that we cannot control every area of our life.

Crying makes me feel that way. It makes me understand that I am not in control of every area of my life. That no matter what happens to me, the only way I can feel a measure of release; is to cry.

After crying, I feel like the world has been lifted off my shoulder. Even though the problems have not magically disappeared by the wave of a wand. Or a empty bottle of vodka. But instead it gives me a glimpse of hope that I can get through this.

Holding it in just allows the situation to fester. Like yeast raises, so does the pain build. Then not only are you trying to push back that problem or pain. You are also trying to disguise all the issue that always arises from the initial pain.

It is like a lie. One leads to another. Whether you are trying to lie to yourself or convince someone else. Holding things back just causes a bigger commotion. Doesn’t this sound like a lot of other things in life.
