How to Save Energy how to Feel more Energy

SAVING ENERGY:

IN YOUR HOME AND IN YOUR LIFE

In this tight economy, it is important that we utilize ways to save money and energy. In our homes, we need to know what will cut down on the energy expended. In our lives, we wish that we felt like we had more energy to spare. What steps can we take to save energy in our homes, and how can we add good energy to our lives? Energy is precious.

Saving Energy in Your Home

There are many fairly simple things that you can do to save energy in your home.

Turn off the light when you leave the room. Buy energy-efficient light bulbs for every room of the house. This will save you money in the long-run.

Choose to use a power strip, to plug in lights appliances and gadgets.

Even when these items are off and left plugged into the wall, one-third of the energy used to run them, is being expended. Flicking the power strip to off, will combat this problem.

Look for water-saving showerheads and toilets. Repair or replace any leaky faucets.

Choose energy-efficient water heaters and appliances, which carry Energy Star ratings.

Gaining Energy in Your Personal Life

According to the book, “Energy Addict: 101 Physical, Mental & Spiritual Ways to Energize Your Life,” written by Jon Gordon:

Get out into the morning sunlight and take a walk.

Practice deep breathing.

Give your body natural foods.

Cut the caffeine. Drink water or green tea instead of soda or coffee.

Drink plenty of clean water every day.

Cut out all hydrogenated oils.

Be active. Walking is great exercise.

Pay attention to your posture.

When you feel like your energy is crashing, take a short break.

“Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a college kid with a maxed out charge card.”

Jon Gordon also says that it is important to invest our energies into activities that are personally important to us.

He also says that we should “treat every interaction with others as an exchange of energy.” Put simply, if you radiate positive energy to others, you are more likely to have the experience of receiving positive energy in your own life.

The subject of energy can be approached in many forums, as it is so often an issue of needing to gain more or expend less of it.

Making small changes in our homes and in our habits can help us regulate the flow of energy in all areas of life, and harness the power of it for our own personal success.
