Scientific discovery and scientific method is the way to the future

As any scientist can tell you, the path to the scientific discovery is a difficult one. It involves many steps, some of them including understanding and seeing clearly the big picture, making a hypothesis, proving your hypothesis by using real-life experiments, amending your theory so it is consistent to the results, and either making an alternate hypothesis, or making a conclusion. Of course, this is the general idea of how most scientific ideas become more than hypotheses, but realities. But there is a lot more to that. Science has always attracted people with the logical way of thinking because when something is proven to be correct, it can be put to work. Many scientists have put their heads together to come up with intricate ways for us to eat better, travel faster, and lead a more productive life. It has not always been easy, because it often requires many steps to reach the correct conclusion. Nevertheless, people have been extremely persistent in their approach to science. One of the reasons is that there is a lot to be gained from it. It is hard to imagine our lives if we could not do the things we take for granted today-clean water and food, a stable roof above our heads, a warm home, and so forth. But our ancestors had to be ingenious in their ways they created fire, and in the way they understood what was going on around them. Scientific ideas and the scientific methods have fascinated them, because it seemed like there were some forces that were out of their control that affected their everyday lives. If would be nice, they wondered, to predict the weather, to tell the tides, and to be able to grow edible crops. And with each new discovery, they became more intelligent, more adapted to the environment, more in step with the world. They learned that the earth moves around the Sun. They found out about seasons, and the cycles of the weather. They soon learned basic principles of math, physics, chemistry and geology that they could apply to their surroundings to demystify the universe. With that came a rigorous method of analyzing results and making sense of them. Even today, many scientists are perplexed by new experiments. Imagine how important those discoveries seemed to a man living on our planet two centuries ago! We are on the right path to improving our worlds. It is just a matter of time until we satisfy our curiosity to the fullest.
