Positive Thinking Negative Thoughts better Thinking self help Happiness Changing Habits

In this paper I will discuss how people can suppress bad thoughts and the process involved.  Bad thoughts lead to negative behavioral patterns and from there peoples lives can be adversely affected and go awry.  This could be a good way people may be left wondering “what happened?” and “why did this person change for no reason?”  First, I will identify how and why this occurs. Second, I will discuss how self discipline comes into consideration with blocking negative thoughts.  Third, I will discuss how positive and productive thinking blocks and squeezes out negative thoughts.

First, I will identify how and why bad thoughts and behavioral patterns occur.  Where each person has a different set of needs in their biological make-up there are some basic qualities we all share.  These qualities can make us susceptible to negative thoughts due to a variety of external causes.  The need for acceptance socially with our peers starting in school and then into our jobs later and other social activities.  This also includes our need to socially fit into a family structure at home for acceptance and often approval rooting down to the need to be “loved.”  Once people begin to see past the need for others approval and self acceptance realizing that some things cannot be changed they will believe in themselves more and approach life with more strength.  With our innate capability to adjust and restructure thinking; people have the capability of modifying their life approaches and at a more detailed, comprehensive and yet basic level by the way they look at things.  Thus adjustment and flexibility become key attributes in the process of suppressing bad thoughts.  Because in all essence; we don’t necessarily want to suppress but we also want to “let go” of bad or negative thoughts.  So how does one do such a measure- we are all human right?  And aren’t some people bad to begin with?  Well yes and no.  We have the power to allow bad or negative thoughts to be used and we also have the power to redirect and diminish them.  This process of restructuring can take time and need interventions depending on the individual.

Second, I will discuss how self discipline comes into consideration with blocking negative thoughts.  Self-discipline often comes from knowing yourself, what you want and believe in and what is important worth pursuing in life. a disciplined mind often is disguised as a intelligent one because it in a way is approaching life in a intelligent way through better thinking and thus less bad thoughts.  Bad thoughts or negative thinking can hinder your life process if you let these thoughts get the best of you.

Third, I will discuss how positive and productive thinking blocks and squeezes out negative thoughts.  This does begin with you and what you will accept to influence your thinking.  However, often it’s the people we associate with and the things we do and even environments we are exposed to that influences this.  People even who we have close relationships with can have negative influences in our life.  This is when we find ourselves having to make hard decisions if it means breaking off relationships who are not in the support of our greater good or growth and just weigh us down promoting a feeling of “bad thoughts.”  Our environment can play a toll. for example different kinds of music can affect moods and thought thought form as well as other noises, visual images and smells.  These observations become clearer as people become more aware of their thought processes.
