Newtons Laws

Isaac Newton was one of the most famous physicist that ever lived. Even though he was very educated in many subjects including math, astronomy, alchemy, and theology, he is most famous for his contributions to physics. His most famous was Newton’s Laws of Motion. In this article I will explain his laws of motion.

Isaac Newtons first law states “Every object will remain at rest will remain  at rest unless an unbalanced force acts upon it and an object that is in motion will not change its velocity unless an unbalanced force acts upon it.” What this means is this means that  it is the nature of objects to keep on doing what they’re doing. All objects resist changes in their state of motion. Without an unbalanced force an object will remain at that state.

Newton’s second law says “a force to be equal to the differential change in momentum per unit time.”  This only explains how velocity of an object changes when an unbalanced force is applied to it. Many people believe the second of Newton’s laws is the most powerful. It can be often summarized as F=ma. If you asked people they may tell you Newton’s second law may be the most sophisticated but most powerful.

Newton’s third law may be the most simple one to some. It states “For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.” This can be explained in an example of mine. If two skaters are skating toward each other, then both of them collide both of them move backwards in an opposite direction. This law explains momentum. There are lots people that don’t believe in this law because of conservation of momentum and Newton’s third law seems to fail. Overall I think this law made an excellent contribution to physics.

Many people thought of Newton’s Laws of Motion were only observations. But yet they explain motion everyday. But if you combine his laws with other theories they don’t seem to combine. Now laws of momentum and energy are more common than Newton’s Laws of Motion. Both of the laws apply that momentum and energy can be created nor destroyed. There were many books that Isaac Newton has written about his laws that people need to take into consideration.  But since society has advanced and Newton’s Laws of Motion has gotten really old, there are many new laws substituting them and Newton’s laws are becoming more and more proven untrue.
