Is it Ethical to use Dna Analysis to Create Super Humans

To be honest, we really should not be screwing around with nature. One could ask this question: “What is a super-human?” The obvious answer would be to watch “X-Men,” “Heroes,” “Dragon Ball Z,” or “The 4400.” A super-human would be a human that has skills and traits that goes beyond human boundaries. There are many possibilities such as superhuman intelligence, superhuman strength, superhuman speed, superhuman senses, superhuman eyesight, superhuman reflexes, pyrokinesis, cryokinesis, superhuman endurance, telepathy, mind control, flight, superhuman jump, and many other “wonderful abilities.

These abilities would be very nice. But in application via DNA analysis to create super-humans will do nothing but invite a whole world of trouble. Of course there will be people that will make the argument that the creation of super-humans would lead to the extermination of the things that ail us. There would be people that will argue that the creation of super-humans would lead to humans being less likely to get injured. There would be people that will argue that the creation of super-humans would lead to better health and longer life expectancies.

However, that is nothing more than wishful thinking. While everything looks good in writing, it is a whole different story in regards to actual applications. But, there are many things one does not even consider in regards to DNA analysis to create super-humans. One such thing we have to think about is that the creation of super-humans would be a designer human or designer baby would be nothing different from creating a clone. The ethics of creating a super-human would be no different from the ethics of creating a clone.

There is really no difference between a clone and a super-human. The creation of both requires DNA analysis and genetic manipulation. Plus, a clone and a super-human would also require surrogate mothers. This is the first step towards questioning the ethics of the creation of super-humans.

However, in most cases, the creation of super-humans would be very unethical. The first case of the use of DNA analysis for super-human would be the costs. So far, a firm in South Korea has started cloning pets for commercial use. One woman paid $150,000 to have her deceased pet dog to be cloned. That is much more than what the average person makes in a year. It would take quite a long time to come up with $150,000. Such a price is relatively expensive.

Cloning a human would be even more expensive. Perhaps creating a super-human would be insanely expensive. In this case, it is going to drive the spike deeper between the upper class and the lower class. It is highly unlikely that the lower class will be able to pay that amount of money. The upper class would probably front up the money to have a super-human baby.

In this respect, everything will be thrown out of balance. The whole fabric of life would be thrown into chaos. It would greatly affect who would get the better jobs and who would get the worse jobs. Overall, the creation of super-humans would have a grave social impact on the world.

Keep in mind that Adolf Hitler tried to create a race of super-humans during World War II. Some madman in the world would probably be doing the same thing and trying to create a super-human. The thought of a person off their rocker being able to create super-humans would be a very scary thought.

Also, there is no distinct definition on what a super-human is. The term of super-human can be interpreted into just about anything. For the most part, many can say that it is not ethical to use DNA analysis to create super-humans.

Overall, trying to create super-humans is just asking for trouble.
