How to Deal with Rejection

So you have been rejected. That is going to happen a lot in your lifetime, so you might as well get used to it. Not to sound like a pessimist, but if you are going to do anything powerful in your life, you are going to be rejected a few times first. It might be because you are trying something new, and people don’t like it, or maybe people are scared that you might take the spotlight off of them. Maybe you just aren’t good enough yet, and you need more time. It isn’t about being rejected, its how you react to the rejection.

If you have been rejected, you should just take some time to reflect on the rejection. I’m not saying that you should be taking time to dwell on the rejection, its just that you should take some time to figure out what went wrong. What is not learned from your last rejection is going to be repeated if you don’t take some time to think about it. You should always try to learn from your mistakes.

The next thing you need to do is just forget about the rejection. You have learned what you are going to learn from it, and the rest is just painful to think about. You don’t want to take the negative with you, so you now need to move on. Go onward with your life, and not worry so much about the bad thing you just had happen to you. That can really mess with you if you don’t forget the bad things every so often.

Now you need to move on, and continue living your life. You aren’t going to get anywhere if you are just moping around all the time, and not ready to see what is next. So what if a girl rejected you, you just need to move on, and find the next girl. So what if the publisher rejected you, you need to submit your next article. You will never get past rejection if you never try again.

The last thing you need to do is forgive whoever rejected you, and just let it go. We tend to be snippy towards those who didn’t see our true greatness, or feel like the world owes us. It does not, and it doesn’t really care what you think all the time. That is why you need to move on because you can’t wait for the world to realize how great you are.

If you have been rejected, welcome to the club my friend. You have joined a club that is welcome to all members of the world, and actually happens to have us all on the guest list. Ironically enough this is one club that won’t reject you. So in a way you should feel good that there is always one thing that we have all in common, and we can all relate to.
