You may already have the necessary ingredients in your cupboard. Set aside time to relax and pamper yourself with a spalike experience. Turn off the phone, light a few candles and enjoy a background of soft, relaxing music in the comfort and privacy of your home.

Almond Facial Milk

Step 1

Place 3/4 cup of organic lavender or rose petals into a clean mason jar. Fill the jar to the top with boiling water. Cover the jar and let the petals steep in the water overnight.

Step 2

Strain the petals from the water by pouring the contents of the jar into a bowl through a swatch of cheese cloth. Discard the petal debris.

Step 3

Pour the lavender or rose water into a glass jar. Combine 1 tsp. pure vegetable glycerin, 1 tsp. cold-pressed organic almond oil and 12 drops of grapefruit seed extract in the jar with the herb water.

Step 4

Cover the top of the jar with a sealed cover. Shake the jar to blend the ingredients.

Step 5

Apply the blended ingredients to your face with your fingers or with a cotton ball. Massage the facial milk into your skin. Rinse with warm water.

Step 6

Store the almond facial milk in the refrigerator for up to one month. The grapefruit seed extract acts as a preservative. Discard the contents of the jar if mold appears.

Moisturizing Hair Treatment

Step 1

Mix 1/2 cup honey and 1/4 cup olive oil together.

Step 2

Apply the mixture to your hair a small amount at a time and massage it in until your hair is completely coated.

Step 3

Cover your head with plastic wrap or a shower cap. Leave your hair wrapped for 30 minutes.

Step 4

Shampoo your hair to remove the homemade moisturizer. Rinse well.

Homemade Body Wraps

Step 1

Bring 2 1/2 quarts water to a boil. Remove from heat and add 6 tbsp. of fresh herbs. Cover the pot and allow the herbs to steep for 15 minutes.

Step 2

Cut or tear 6- to 8-inch-wide strips of muslin. Each strip should be at least 16 inches long, depending on the part of your body you’re wrapping.

Step 3

Soak the strips in the steeped herb water for 15 minutes, covered. Heat a blanket in the dryer as you soak the strips.

Step 4

Wring the water from the strips and wrap them around your body about as tightly as a knee sock. Overlap the strips when necessary, tucking the ends into the wrapped sections to hold them in place.

Step 5

Wrap yourself in the heated blanket and recline in your bathtub for an hour. You can also spread a plastic sheet over your bed or lounger for a more comfortable rest.
