How to Give a Woman a Foot Massage

Overview

A romantic foot massage can be the perfect way to enhance intimacy. Erasing tension and lowering the barriers between two people is often difficult. Soft music, a hint of flowers in the air and a few sensual massage techniques can work miracles. Combining a tranquil environment with tender massage makes it easier for couples to block out the distractions of the world and focus solely on each other. Reconnect with a foot massage and watch the glow of romance come to life.

Step 1

Create an oasis by eliminating distractions, ensuring privacy and dimming lights. Light candles, play romantic background music and place a bouquet or two of flowers about the room. Combine 1/4 cup of carrier oil with 15 drops of essential oil in one bowl and mix. Add 1-1/2 cups of fine sea salt and blend together. Draw a basin of warm water.

Step 2

Ask the woman to sit back in the chair. Support her neck with a small pillow to maximize relaxation. Place her feet in the basin of warm water and allow them to soak for several minutes to soften. Cover the footstool with a towel and then move one bare foot from the water to the footstool. Using small circular motions, gently rub the sea salt foot scrub on her foot. Cover the entire foot, from toes to upper ankle. When finished, place this foot back in the water and repeat this step on her other foot.

Step 3

In the other bowl, mix the remaining 1/4 cup of carrier oil with 15 drops of essential oil. Remove her feet from the water and place on the footstool, slowly drying with a towel. Wrap her left foot in a towel to maintain warmth and start with her right foot.

Step 4

Place a quarter-size amount of the oil mixture between the palms of your hands and rub them together. Lightly grasp her right foot at the ankle on either side with both of your hands. Draw downward to the toes in a milking motion, alternating hands. Use more oil as needed. Repeat this action until her entire foot has been covered several times and has a fine layer of massage oil on the surface.

Step 5

Support her heel in one hand while sandwiching the big toe between your forefinger and thumb of your other hand. Press her toe between the forefinger and thumb gently, stroking from the base to the tip. Repeat this, moving around the toe, until the entire surface has been covered. Finish by holding her toe firmly and rotating it in small, slow circles. Repeat this on each of her other toes.

Step 6

Continue to support her heel with your hand and grasp her toes in your other hand. Alternately stretch toes upward, then downward. Move slowly and don’t overextend. The motion should gently stretch, then contract the ball of her foot. Repeat five times.

Step 7

Using the pad of your thumb, start at the heel of her foot and exert gentle pressure. Rock the tip of your thumb by alternately bending and straightening it. Using this rocking movement, walk your thumb in horizontal lines from one edge of her foot to the other. Massage the entire sole of her foot utilizing this technique. The pressure should be gentle and not cause any discomfort.

Step 8

Gently hold her foot in position with your left hand, supporting her ankle. Fan out the fingers of your right hand and pull them from her upper ankle to the tips of her toes in a sweeping motion. Repeat this motion, covering first the upper portion of her foot, then the sides and the sole. Wrap her right foot in a towel, uncover her left foot and repeat the massage steps on her left foot.
