How to Remove Wrinkles with Facial Exercises

Overview

As you go through the natural aging process, your face starts to lose its elasticity and tone. Your facial muscles are attached to the skin. When these muscles start to lose their elasticity because of the aging process or gravity, the facial skin that is attached to these muscles becomes saggy and loose, causing wrinkles. This makes you look tired and old. Numerous treatments can combat facial wrinkles, such as Botox injections or surgical methods. However, these treatments are costly and can cause skin irritations and scarring. Natural treatments, such as facial exercises, can help tighten your facial skin and strengthen facial muscles. You can perform several facial exercises at home to help strengthen your facial muscles and combat wrinkles.

Step 1

Place both your index and ring fingers above your eyelids and gently pull down on your eyes while raising your eyebrows as high up as you can. Hold for a count of 10; relax and repeat 15 times. This facial exercise helps smooth out wrinkles on your forehead.

Step 2

Work the muscles of your eyes to tighten the skin on upper eyelids. Sit up straight or lie down and close your eyes. Keep your eyes closed and quickly look up as high as you can and look down. Perform this exercise 15 times.

Step 3

Exercise the muscles of your cheeks to help smooth out cheek wrinkles. Sit up straight and slowly tilt your head backwards. Place your index and middle fingers on your cheeks and push them down firmly. Make sure your head is still tilted backward and smile as wide as you can to raise your cheek muscles. Perform this exercise for 10 times.

Step 4

Exercise the muscles of your lips to help smooth out wrinkles around your mouth. Put your index finger in your mouth–wash your hands first; suck on it as hard as you can, and slowly pull it out. Perform this exercise for 10 times.

Step 5

Smooth out wrinkles around your neck by exercising your neck muscles. Sit with your back straight and tilt your head back slowly while keeping your mouth closed. Bring your bottom lip over your top lip as high up as you can, and hold for 10 seconds. Repeat this neck exercise for 10 times.
