Salt scrubs are used to exfoliate the skin, which removes dead skin cells and reveals softer, smoother skin underneath. Salt scrub treatments can be applied at spas or specialty salons, and you can also purchase the scrubs in stores. If you would prefer to make them at home, you can do so quickly and easily using ingredients readily found in kitchens or available at health food stores. The scrubs can be customized according to texture and scent.
Kosher Salt Body Scrub
Combine 2 cups of avocado oil, 1 cup of apricot oil, 1 cup of unsweetened cocoa and 2 tablespoons of vanilla extract in a bowl. Mix the ingredients.
Add 8 cups of kosher salt to the bowl and mix.
Add honey until the mixture becomes smooth.
Apply the salt scrub to your body, rubbing it in circular motions. Rinse the scrub away with cool water.
Sea Salt Body Scrub
Combine 2 cups of coconut oil and 1 cup of sea salt in a bowl. Mix the oil and salt together.
Add 10 drops of essential oil to the bowl. Try pleasantly scented oils such as lemongrass and lavender.
Apply the body scrub to your skin once a week, rinsing with cool water afterward. This scrub can be stored in the shower.
Table Salt Body Scrub
