Anti-Aging & Firming Skin Care

Overview

As the skin ages, it changes in many ways. It starts to look old when it loses its firmness and when wrinkles and age spots start to appear. Oil glands in the skin get lazy with age, and this causes the skin to become dry. Do not think that all you can do is stand by and wait for the aging process to happen. You can combat skin aging with the help of anti-aging and firming skin care.

Step 1

Create a diet that includes foods that are beneficial to youthful looking skin. Eat vitamin A foods to prevent premature aging of the skin. Some vitamin A foods are carrots, yellow fruits and vegetables, and green vegetables. Include vitamin C foods such as citrus fruits. Drink an ample amount of water (six to eight glasses) every day to cleanse the body and the skin.

Step 2

See a licensed esthetician for a facial massage. Schedule an appointment every two to four weeks. Facial massage stimulates the circulation of nourishing blood to the skin, and it assists in firming the skin. It also restores elasticity to the skin and encourages oil production. Massaging the face also makes dead skin cells easier to remove. When dead skin cells are removed, the skin looks younger.

Step 3

Use serums on your skin. Encourage firm skin and combat skin aging by using vitamin C serum to promote more collagen, and use green tea serum to fight off free radicals that cause skin damage.

Step 4

Stop accelerating skin aging. Stay away from cigarettes, as smoking reduces collagen production. Avoid the sun since the sun’s rays are known to be damaging to collagen. Never stay under the sun for longer than 15 minutes unprotected by a sunscreen. Do not drink a lot of alcohol. When applying creams, lotions or serums to the skin, always use a gentle touch and an upward motion. Always avoid stretching the skin.
