About Strivectin HS Deep Wrinkle Serum

Overview

The story of StriVectin® is unique among cosmetics companies; in fact, the company didn’t intend to make wrinkle treatments or even facial skin care products. The company’s first product, StriVectin®-SD, began as a simple stretch mark cream. Once scientists discovered that the product’s active ingredient was effective in reducing the look of wrinkles, word of mouth and massive sales changed the company’s course. Since that discovery in 2002, the company’s product line has expanded to include this deep wrinkle serum.

Purpose

StriVectin®-HS Hydro-Thermal Deep Wrinkle Serum claims to be the first “thermophyllic” serum designed to fight wrinkles. As indicated by the prefix “thermo,” this serum is activated by heat. It’s designed to penetrate through the epidermis, the outer layer of skin, straight through to the dermis. There, in this deep lower layer, the serum fights wrinkles where they form. It claims to reduce the visibility of creases, pores, lines and other skin imperfections.

How Wrinkles Are Formed

The surface layer of your skin, the epidermis, is thinner and stiffer than the layer beneath it, called the dermis. The dermis is thick and soft and will contract naturally as you age. When the dermis shrinks in size, its movement forms wrinkles on the looser outer layer of skin.

How This Serum Helps

StriVectin®-HS Hydro-Thermal Deep Wrinkle Serum is designed to strengthen the skin at the level where the epidermis meets the dermis, deep down inside where wrinkles form. According to the manufacturer’s specifications, the serum starts working at the base of your deepest wrinkles, lifting them from the dermis up to the epidermis and decreasing the sharp look of lines and creases.

Recommended Usage

The manufacturer recommends this formula for all skin types. Use the formula twice a day to start with, until you notice improvement in the look of deep creases and wrinkles. Once you’ve achieved the look you want, maintain it with continual use of the serum three times a week. You should use this serum after all makeup and other creams have been washed away; in the morning, use this serum before your moisturizer, sunscreen and makeup.

Application Technique

The serum should be applied with your fingertips, directly to the trouble spots you want to treat. Dab the serum on and wait for it to dry. While you’re waiting, run a washcloth under warm water and wring it out. Press the cloth to your face; its heat will activate the serum. After 30 seconds, remove the cloth and gently dry your face.
