Ab Chair Deluxe Instructions

Overview

The Ab Chair Deluxe is a fitness machine designed for use in a series of exercises that target the abdominal muscles. The device features a hinge where the seat and back support meet, which allows the user to fully extend his body from an initial seated position. The exercises designed for use on the Ab Chair Deluxe are similar to standard abdominal crunches, but the device provides a more comfortable alternative to performing a workout on a cold, hard floor.

Step 1

Sit down in the Ab Chair Deluxe and place your feet on the foot rests. Recline backward and hold the pull-up bar in an overhand grip. Exhale and perform a curl by pulling your upper torso forward while contracting your abdominal muscles. Hold this position for a second, then return to your original position while inhaling. Repeat as desired.

Step 2

Recline backward and extend your arms such that they pass under the pull-up bar. Perform a curl as before and repeat as desired. Next, hold the pull-up bar in an overhand grip and extend your legs such that your calves rest on the foot rests. Perform a curl and repeat as desired.

Step 3

Recline backward, then roll onto your side and rest your head upon a folded arm. Use your other arm to hold onto the pull-up bar with an overhand grip. Bend your knees until you are able to put your feet on the foot rests. Exhale and curl your torso to the side. Hold this position for a second, then return to your original position while inhaling. Repeat as desired, then flip onto your other side, mirror your positioning and perform the same number of curls.
